Adornment of character

Artist Statement

I create sculptural jewelry that is wearable pieces of art or as I also view them, fabricated forms of performance art. When a piece of jewelry is worn, there is interplay between functional adornment and storytelling where the basic structure or function of a piece is the apparatus for a narrative that is given a unique context by the wearer.

Drawing inspiration from the expressive movements of dancers and the emotional connection found in personal narratives, I enjoy working details into pieces that give them character. In this way I hope to engage observers and wearers alike.
